Introduction of SAA Certification

1、Brief introduction

All electrical equipment imported and sold in Australia must be proven to be electrically safe.  All equipment listed as declared electrical equipment must have SAA certification before being sold in Australia. SAA certificate indicates the equipment can be safely operated and used by the persons. A SAA certificate is issued for a maximum period of five years. Consumers can online validate if the equipment has SAA certificate via website https://equipment.erac.gov.au/Public.

• The test report should be to the current version of the relevant Australian standard. When a test report is submitted that is not to the current relevant Australian standard, an additional test report or assessment of variations, amendments and any other relevant information is to be supplied to show how the equipment complies with the current Australian standard

    6、Lead Time and Fee

The lead time for testing electrical equipment is normally 2 to 3 weeks dependent on the specific equipment. The lead time for issuance of the SAA certificate is usually 10 to 15 working days. The SAA certification fee is dependent on an evaluation of the equipment information including instruction manual, photos, differences between models and etc .
